How does Premium Email Send work?

Premium Email Send routes your outgoing mail through a dedicated, high-reputation SMTP relay (world-class facilities, currently powered by Amazon SES) to maximise deliverability and bypass local server limits. Incoming mail stays exactly as it is; only the sending path changes for the mailboxes you choose.

  1. Domain verification & DNS setup (we handle this)
    We verify your sending domain and publish the required DNS records:
    DKIM (CNAMEs), update SPF to include the relay, and configure a custom MAIL FROM domain for proper return-path/bounce handling. These changes improve inbox placement and do not affect your inbound mail.
  2. Select which mailboxes use Premium Send
    Keep your normal accounts sending via the standard server. Choose one or more critical accounts (e.g., billing@, marketing@, notices@) to send via the premium pipeline. This separation ensures that local server issues or throttling do not impact your important senders.
  3. Per-account SMTP credentials supplied
    We provide the username, password, and SMTP host for Premium Send (e.g., smtp.premium.idshosting.co.za, Port 587 TLS/STARTTLS or 465 SSL). Each chosen mailbox can have its own credentials for security and control.
  4. Update the email client for the selected account(s)
    In Outlook / Apple Mail / Thunderbird:
    • Leave the incoming (IMAP/POP) server unchanged.
    • Change only the outgoing (SMTP) server to the Premium Send host.
    • Enable “My outgoing server requires authentication” and use the supplied username/password.
    • Encryption: TLS/STARTTLS on 587 (or SSL on 465 if required).

    Result: that specific mailbox now uses the premium pipeline; all other mailboxes continue sending via the normal server.

  5. Sending flow
    Your mail client → Premium SMTP relay → global delivery network → recipient mail server. Messages are authenticated (SPF/DKIM) and align with DMARC for better inbox placement and fewer blocks.
  6. Bounces
    Hard/soft bounces are returned to a dedicated bounce/return-path address that we configure for you, so you can remove invalid recipients and protect your domain reputation. (Open/click tracking is not included.)
  7. Compliance & good practice
    Send only to opted-in recipients, include an unsubscribe method for marketing mail, avoid spam-trigger wording, and keep lists clean. To protect reputation, sustained high bounce/complaint rates may lead to temporary throttling or a pause while issues are resolved.

1) What exactly is Premium Email Send?
A dedicated, high-reputation SMTP route for selected mailboxes so your important emails are sent quickly, securely, and with better inbox placement—without changing how you receive mail.

2) Does this replace my normal email hosting?
No. Incoming mail and standard accounts stay as they are. Only the mailboxes you choose will send via the premium relay.

3) Can I move just some accounts onto Premium Send?
Yes. We supply per-account SMTP credentials so you can route only specific mailboxes (e.g., billing@, notices@) through the premium pipeline.

4) What DNS changes are required—and who does them?
We handle domain verification and add/adjust SPF, DKIM, and a custom MAIL FROM/return-path so delivery and bounce handling work correctly.

5) Will recipients see that I’m sending via another service?
With the custom MAIL FROM and DKIM setup we apply, your messages present as coming from your own domain—no “via” branding.

6) Is tracking included (opens/clicks)?
No. We don’t add open/click tracking. Bounce reporting is included so you can remove bad addresses and protect reputation.

7) How many emails can I send?
